The City of Mississauga is conducting an aerial spray between April 23 and June 10, 2018. Fall cankerworm and gypsy moth populations are at high levels. Trees in areas of the city are predicted to lose a lot of leaves. Aerial spraying has proven to be effective in lowering fall cankerworm and gypsy moth populations. Although the aerial spray won’t eradicate all fall cankerworms and gypsy moths, it will lower populations to a more manageable level.

Please note that no aerial spray is intended for Ward 5 as there are no infested areas reported.

The City will continue to implement ongoing Integrated Pest Management measures such as tree injections, egg scraping and tree banding.
