Each year, the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) hosts 6 Degrees, a 3-day event held in Toronto. The mission is to create a space where an international community committed to inclusion can be fostered.  This year, Toronto Pearson is partnering with the ICC to create Toronto Pearson Youth Cohort at 6 Degrees, a group of 20 dynamic young leaders drawn from Toronto Pearson communities.

One of the streams of Toronto Pearson’s community investment program, the Propeller Project, is the Uplift Fund. This fund works to build partnerships focused on employment and bridging the gaps that the community faces to securing meaningful employment. The cohort will participate in a 6-week long fellowship, culminating in the collective creation, curation and carrying out of a youth-led event in the GTA, to discuss youth unemployment with other young people, leaders, MPs and MPPs.

Applications are currently being accepted for youth leaders between the ages of 18 to 29. Applicants must reside in Etobicoke, Mississauga or Brampton. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, September 13 at 11:59 p.m. The application can be found at: https://torontopearson.com/youthcohort/#
