Malton’s Canada Day celebration was started right after the 2014 election and has been a yearly event every July 1 until 2020 when it was unfortunately cancelled, as all events were, due to COVID restrictions.

It started with a half day celebration which quickly turned into a full day of children’s rides and games, a main stage full of music and entertainment from noon until dusk and booths filled with games, food and give-aways.  Malton has had the city’s largest and longest fireworks display off the roof of Westwood Square Mall – outdoing even Celebration Square with a spectacular show set to music every year.

Westwood Square has been an incredibly generous host and lead sponsor each year. The City of Mississauga has provided generous grants and the Malton Business Improvement Association with local sponsors have topped up the more than $100,000 spent on the free celebration each year.

We look forward to a virtual Canada Day from Mississauga City Hall in 2021 and a return to Malton’s live celebration in 2022!
