With light rail transit speeding into downtown Mississauga, there needs to be an emphasis on ensuring those that will use the service can afford to live nearby, said Mississauga mayor Bonnie Crombie.
During Wednesday’s (Nov 4) general committee meeting, members heard a staff presentation about downtown growth and the need for more parks and open spaces. With LRT on its way, emphasis is on beautification and economic vibrancy. But Crombie and ward 5 Councillor Carolyn Parrish said more attention needs to be paid to affordable housing options.
