What is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is global movement dedicated to support and give back to local communities. GivingTuesday takes place every year on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday where anyone can contribute to a charitable cause – this year it falls on Tuesday, December 1st, 2015. This initiative started in 2012 in collaboration with the UN Foundation and other community organizations and has since spread to over 40 countries.

How did MississaugaGives get started? What do they do?

After seeing the success of GuelphGives for the city’s charities and non-profits last year, Nicole Danesi decided to found MississaugaGives to help encourage the same sentiment in Mississauga. MississaugaGives has a presence online. Through social media, they aim to raise awareness about GivingTuesday, are able to connect people to Mississauga charities and provide information about where they can donate to help benefit those in the City.

What happens on Tuesday December 1st 2015?

Individuals have the opportunity to take part in charitable giving and/or volunteer in their local community.
