Investigators with the Major Drugs and Vice Bureau executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant at a marihuana dispensary and arrested four people on Wednesday August 24, 2016.

In June, 2016, as a result of a community complaint, the Major Drugs and Vice Bureau commenced an investigation into an illegal marihuana dispensary, Pharma-Cann, on Drew Road in the City of Mississauga. Investigators worked in partnership with the City of Mississauga Compliance and License Enforcement Office as well as the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized a quantity of cash, Cannabis Marihuana, Cannabis Resin, Hashish, Tetrahydrocannabinol known as THC in the form edibles and shatter.

The illegal marihuana dispensary is not a Health Canada licensed producer or distributor as defined in the Medical Marihuana Regulations.

These types of “storefront” operations pose a potential public health risk as the production of controlled substances are not regulated by Health Canada and/or originate from unknown sources.

A 36 year-old male has been arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, two counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday September 22, 2016.

A 37 year-old male from has been arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday September 22, 2016.

A 39 year-old male from has been arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Trafficking a Controlled Substance and four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday September 22, 2016.

A 31 year-old female has been arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Trafficking a Controlled Substance and four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday September 22, 2016.
