On the surface, the discussion earlier this month at General Committee was about who should have to pay the freight to maintain regional roads – the municipality the roads are in or the region on the whole.

However, the debate served to highlight the long-standing issue about whether or not Mississauga – Canada’s sixth largest city – should continue to be a part of the Region of Peel, which also includes Brampton and Caledon.
