In June, Councillor Parrish spearheaded a plan that would allow Senior’s to ride MiWay during off-peak hours for $1. The plan manifested into a six-month pilot project ending in December. This passed week Regional Council voted to extend the project!

This project helps Mississauga’s aging population get out and around the city at an affordable rate. Whether they visit friends and family, run errands or get to appointments, this discounted rate allows them to stay connected to all of the City and helps avoid isolation.

Off-peak hours are considered to be 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and after 7 p.m. during the week, and all-day on weekends and holidays.
