Mississauga, Dec.  11, 2014 – Commuters between Malton and Brampton can look forward to speedier travels and fewer delays at rail crossings on Torbram Rd.

Construction of an underpass at the rail line south of Steeles Ave., is ready to begin. When complete, the road will dip below the busy train tracks, letting drivers pass without delay.

“This project is going to reduce congestion in and out of Malton,” says Ward 5 Councillor Carolyn Parrish. “It’s been a long time coming, and I know residents will be thrilled when they’re able to travel with fewer holdups.”

The Torbram Rd. grade separation is a joint project between the City of Mississauga and the City of Brampton. Nearby businesses and residents have been notified of the construction and signs have been installed to make drivers aware of the upcoming changes.

The Torbram Rd. project is scheduled to be completed by fall 2016. Construction on a similar underpass on Goreway Dr. is scheduled to begin in 2016.
