Carolyn Parrish’s political career perished in 2010, but was resurrected in Ward 5 tonight.

The 68-year-old mother and grandmother made a return to City Hall with a decisive victory over eight candidates vying for the seat that incumbent Bonnie Crombie was forced to give up when she announced her mayoral aspirations.

“My nose is running from crying. It is just great,” said an emotional Parrish, who was brought to tears when one of her daughters and grandkids arrived. “I’m just delighted it has happened. I’m not taking this for granted. These are fabulous people.”
