The City of Mississauga’s Budget Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 15 to begin its review of the 2017 – 2020 Business Plan and the City Budget. The Budget is the document that outlines how City resources are spent to support programs/services and advance the Strategic Plan.

Public Engagement
Budget Committee meetings will have dedicated time for residents, businesses, special interest groups and taxpayers to provide input into the budget process. Attend the budget meetings in person or watch them via the City’s live streamMeetings are also archived for viewing at any time.

First Budget Committee Meeting
On June 15, Finance staff will present an overview of the City’s current and projected finances and outline the timelines for upcoming Budget Committee meetings and public engagement activities. Staff will also present the City’s comprehensive long-range financial plan. This plan will provide a summary of the key challenges, a financial condition assessment for the City and a snapshot of the City’s anticipated financial position over the next ten years.

Budget Committee Presentations/Schedule
During the scheduled 2017 Budget Committee meetings, City staff will present their current service levels, cost pressures, efficiencies and new initiatives. Once the Committee approves the proposed Budget, it will go to Council for approval.
