What have we accomplished in Brittania?

COMPLETED

  • Fall Fair at Britannia School House returned
  • Stopped widening of McLaughlin Road, saving over 1000 trees
  • Saigon Park completed with storm water reservoir and opened May 14, 2022
  • FireStation 110 on Egminton opened to better serve local residents
  • Fairwinds Park opening May 29, 2022 with the most amazing creative playground in the City, including a pirate ship and a lighthouse
  • ILLUMI: A Dazzling World of Lights, 13 acre tourist attraction on Hurontario and Derry providing 500 jobs and boosting tourism for hotels and restaurants coming out of Covid

UNDERWAY: Completion 2023-24

  • Light Rail Transit (Hazel McCallion LRT) is under construction on Hurontario
  • Studio Bottega also under construction on Hurontario, attracting Netflix, Disney and other major movie producers and expanding Mississauga’s already extensive movie studio hub, while creating over 5000 permanent jobs and hundreds of apprenticeship opportunities
  • Splash pad for Fairwinds and Saigon Parks

What have we accomplished in Malton?

COMPLETED

  • Annual Canada Day celebrations with fireworks from the roof of Westwood Square
  • Restoration of Paul Coffey Arena and surrounding grounds
  • Creative Castles playground
  • Restoration of the CF 100
  • Removal of rusty aarches and replanting of median on Airport Road with columnar oaks
  • Replacement of archaic PetroCanada gas station at Goreway and Morning Star
  • Public Washroom at Bus Terminal
  • Reopening and imrpovement of Community Police Station
  • Westood Park upgraded with new playground, fitness equipment, park benches and upgraded landscaping
  • MALTON letters on Derry Road
  • Superfan basketball courts at Paul Coffey Park
  • Lighted artificial track, football soccer field at Lincoln Alexander Secondary School

UNDERWAY: Completion 2023

  • Construction of $3 million AVRO Arrow replica to be installed on Derry Road
  • Goreway Bridge over CN tracks: start date this November
  • $13 million Malton Youth Hub: Jonathan Davis Centre
  • Artificial track/soccer pitch designed for Anaka park adjacent to Ascension Secondary School
